ECHO Housing & Community Development helps with finding employment and housing for veterans. The Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program (HVRP) reintegrates our community’s heroes into meaningful employment within the labor force and contributes to a broad-scale effort to address and overcome the complex challenges of homeless veterans. Since launching HVRP in 2012, ECHO Housing & Community Development has assisted over 700 homeless veterans in obtaining employment and permanent housing. Through a network of government and community partners, ECHO Housing & Community Development facilitates employment-related and supportive services for homeless veterans to maximize potential for successful, long-term employment and permanent self-sufficiency.
Services provided to veteran participants include:
- Occupational, classroom, and on-the-job training
- Vocational counseling
- Job search/placement assistance
- Career advancement assistance
- Clothing, housing, and childcare assistance
- Social service referrals
- Counseling/Case-Management
- Transportation assistance
- Resume/Interview skill-building classes
HVRP focuses exclusively on ensuring the successful employment of veterans who are homeless. Participants can be housed at the James Bethel Gresham Memorial Home, a 6-bed transitional housing facility dedicated exclusively to supporting the HVRP program. On-site staff, including a program coordinator, are available to assist residents in navigating the road to stable housing and sustainable employment.
