Welcome to ECHO Housing & Community Development

Providing opportunity through housing for our community since 1991

Guided by our belief that every man, woman, and child deserves a place to call home, ECHO works with compassion and advocacy to make that belief a reality. ECHO has six federally funded housing-centric programs which all serve a unique and important role in our community. ECHO is located in Vanderburgh County – Evansville, Indiana, but provides homeless services throughout southwest Indiana.

In addition to our federally funded service programs, ECHO is a Community Development Corporation (CDC) affordable housing developer and partners with numerous agencies in our community to ensure our Mission, Vision, and Core Values are met through housing, community and economic development.

What they are saying about us…

I spent years being homeless, on the streets, in shelters and living in parks. I couldn’t believe it when I was informed that I would be moving into my own apartment. I pray every night, thanking ECHO Housing staff for the opportunity they have given me. I am truly blessed.

I ended up on the streets with nowhere to go and was becoming hopeless. As a Veteran, I knew there was help somewhere. Finally, Echo Housing became a part of my life and helped me get my own place and things for my home. My whole life was changed. It has been a blessing.

I was homeless, living on the streets for 8 years when ECHO Housing found me. I now have a home of my own.

I am disabled and in a wheelchair. I had made some bad choices that left me homeless on the streets. If it wasn’t for ECHO Housing, I am not sure I would have made it.

I spent 31 years in prison. When I was released, I had nowhere to go and I felt like no one wanted to give me a chance. ECHO Housing helped me transition back into society.

DIVERSITY, EQUITY, & INCLUSION
