“[ECHO Housing] is one of the best work environments I have ever experienced.” – Current Case Manager

“At ECHO Housing, there is great honor and pride in being a pivotal part of someone getting keys to their apartment and no longer having to sleep on the streets.”

“I have been fortunate enough to work for ECHO Housing & Community Developments’ Homeless Veteran Reintegration Program (HVRP) from 2012 until retirement in 2024. The teamwork at ECHO is amazing, even when new staff members are hired, the agency has a way of developing an inclusive, warm, welcoming environment.”

When I was employed at Echo Housing as a Scattered Sites Case Manager, the employees worked as a team to meet the needs of clients in all programs. Echo Housing was determined to get clients housed and assist with providing not only for their physical needs but mental and emotional as well. Echo Housing is dedicated to meeting the clients where they are and helping them reach their fullest potential.

ECHO Housing provided me with the opportunity to make a positive impact within my community. I was encouraged to share my ideas and given the freedom to incorporate those ideas to better meet the needs of the underserved population. Management created a safe and inclusive work environment. I always felt comfortable discussing issues or questions with my supervisor. Expectations and performance standards were clear with the necessary training provided to meet those expectations. Management made trainings and team meetings fun and worthwhile. I especially loved the camaraderie between coworkers that resulted in long lasting friendships.

ECHO Housing was the best job that I have ever had. Although I moved away from Evansville years ago, I still have a special place in my heart for the people who work there and for the work they do for the Evansville area. ECHO Housing strongly believes that everyone deserves a place to call home. This belief is reflected in the work of every employee at ECHO Housing. It fills me with immeasurable pride knowing that ECHO is in great hands. It is a fact that people who devote their lives to helping others seldom get the credit they deserve. Evansville is truly lucky to have such an incredible organization acting in its best interest. If you see someone out wearing ECHO Housing apparel, be sure to thank them for what they do. I know I will!

ECHO Housing and Community Development embraces and prioritizes a positive work environment.

Working in homeless services, our case managers encounter a unique set of challenges that require compassion, resilience, and dedication. Our leadership understands first hand that while our work can be incredibly rewarding, it can also come with burnout and the potential for vicarious trauma. Therefore, we feel it is of utmost importance to foster a transparent and positive work culture among our staff.

Some of the positive work culture initiatives at ECHO Housing include an Agency Buddy Program, a Quarterly Positive Peer Award, a Breakfast and Brainstorming session led by staff, and a 501 Club.
